Tilbury is hosting the third Thurrock’s Future – Let’s Talk evening on Thursday (3 March).

The event — where residents can talk with and question senior politicians and officers of the council — will be held at Lansdowne School in Lansdowne Road, starting at 7pm sharp and running for 90 minutes.

It follows previous Let’s Talk sessions in Stanford-le-Hope and South Ockendon in 2010.

Residents can ask questions direct on the evening.

Cllr John Kent, Leader of the Council, will be there along with his cabinet colleagues, Chief Executive Graham Farrant and members of the Directors’ Board.

Cllr Kent said: “This is a chance for you to ask us questions about the issues facing the borough or facing you personally – and to get answers.

“I would urge everyone to get involved, ask questions and come along to the meeting. There will be a chance to mingle with cabinet members and high-ranking council officers after the formal session is over.”

  1. There does not seem much point in talking any more the Tories seem to control the budget anyway. And what damage they intend to do – sheer spite at not getting their way last year. Adult College Going / Thameside and Grays Beach sold off. (Both destined to share the fate of the State probably in the hope that property developers move in)

  2. I notice how all of the “Let’s Talk” sessions have been in Labour strongholds…

How about going to Chafford Hundred where the real tough questions like, the weight limit on Devonshire being lifted for no apparent reason except being poltically motivated or, the lack of doctors surgery spaces despite the continuation of development in the surrounding area, the lack of school places for Chafford Hundred children who live within the catchment area, the closure of the library and, the list goes on and on.
