Dorchester 1 v 3 Thurrock

Bill Robinson reports from the Avenue……

After a promising start and an early goal Thurrock fell victim to another disappointing defeat against fellow strugglers The Magpies.

Kenny Clark put the visitors in front after six minutes with his third goal in as many matches.

Dorchester responded in a positive manner and were back on level terms just over six minutes later when Reece Connolley converted from close range.

After the break it was difficult to see how Thurrock could break down a solid Dorchester defence.

Then just before the hour was up Chris Flood struck to put the home side in front. After the goal Dorchester grew in confidence and went out looking to seal the win.

On 86 minutes Flood completed the win with his second and his team’s third, leaving Thurrock with a long journey home without any points.

It’s been a tough season for Thurrock with lots of highs and too many lows, the recent glimmers of hope seem to have evaporated and every match is now a battle to secure points that will keep out of the bottom three.
