The polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm today (Thursday) in what is, once again, going to be a close race for power in the local elections in Thurrock.

YT will be in all sixteen wards today, interviewing voters and assessing what influenced them to vote.

We will be publishing the findings after 10pm, when polls close.

Tomorrow we will be at the count where we will publish the results in full with filmed interviews of the return and interviews with each successful candidate.

We will also have overview interviews with the leaders of the main parties.

We will also be tweeting from now (7am on Thursday) until the end of the results service at the civic hall.

  1. Best of Luck to all taking part today, and many thanks to the Council organisational staff – hope everything runs smoothly.

  2. Well as expected, polling day is here and during the run up I only saw one councillor actually canvassing in our street and even then they hardly said a word other than ” can we count on your vote” no indication of what each party were running for.

Why do we bother voting any of these lazy councillors into office, they are only after a cushy number and hoping they win the votes based on peoples political party mindset from old.

Total waste of space and none in my area are fit to be elected based on lack of action and lack of known policies.

  3. none of them have knocked on my door,i must have upset them somehow, they knocked on both of my next door neighbours but walked pass my house.
