THE efforts and achievements of Palmer’s College sporting stars have been celebrated at our annual sports award evening.
The awards celebrate the success of our sports teams – football 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, ladies football, netball and rugby – and individual athletes. Awards were handed out to: the Players’ Player; Coach’s Player; and Most Improved Player in each team.
The coveted Team Award was handed to the Football 2nd XI, who fought off competition from across the county to win the U19 Colleges 2nd XI Trophy in March.
Team Manager and Palmer’s Sports Teacher, Stuart Munday, said: “The 2nd X1 had an amazing season and are worthy winners of the Palmer’s Team Award. They improved throughout the season and are one of the best teams I have coached in my seven years at Palmer’s. It has been a privilege to manage them and I am glad they have been rewarded for their hard work and commitment.”
Mark Vinall, Principal, added: “There is a wealth of sporting talent at Palmer’s and our awards evening is a wonderful way to celebrate the sporting achievements of our students. I would like to thank all the students for their commitment and efforts – they are a credit to our College.”
