Ever wanted to be a costume designer, or compose your own music? Have a go at the Royal Opera House workshops during this half term at the High House Production Park
The Royal Opera House will run two creative workshops for families during half term at the High House Production Park as part of Sounding Out week.
Children and their parents can have a go at designing a costume, or creating their own original piece of music during two separate workshops on Wednesday 1 June.
At 10am a workshop entitled Curious about Costume will be led by a costume designer who will help participants design and make creations from scratch.
In the afternoon, at 1.30pm, families can try their hand at composition with the Compose Yourself workshop. This is for anyone who has ever wondered how to write amazing music and words for an opera. In this fun, practical workshop, those taking part will create their very own libretto (words) and music which will tell an exciting story.
The Sounding Out workshops at the High House Production Park are part of the Royal Opera House’s Sounding Out week for families. This is a week of activities at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and Thurrock based around the theme, ‘from the river to the sea’. It offers families the opportunity to participate in opera, ballet and music together.
