New manager Hakan Hayrettin has had a busy first week in charge of the Blues, and he has wasted little time in starting to shape next season’s squad.
Deals have been agreed with two players who last season were playing at a higher level, which shows the ambition of the new management team.
22-year-old Portuguese winger Joao Carlos joins the club after spending last season with both Brentwood Town and Thurrock. Described by John Still as a “tricky winger”, he made one football league appearance for Dagenham & Redbridge in February 2010, after signing from Aveley.
Ex-blue Kenny Beaney returns after twice featuring in the 2008/09 season, scoring on his debut in a 7-0 win over Maldon in the Essex Senior Cup. Since leaving the Blues, he has had spells with Bromley, Thurrock and most recently Aveley.
Talks are ongoing with other players, and once the deals have been agreed, details will be released.
The manager met with last season’s squad earlier in the week along with other players he had invited, and all are expected to be involved in the first pre-season training session on 25th June.
