Looking for something to keep the children busy over the summer holidays?
Thurrock Council’s Grangewaters Outdoor Education Centre in South Ockendon could well have the answer — Acti-fun.
The centre in Buckles Lane offers a very popular programme of activities for children and young people aged eight to 16 during the school holidays.
The summer programme this year offers three options – multi-activity days, dinghy sailing weeks and paddle sports weeks.
The multi-activity days include such things as raft building, abseiling, and even orienteering.
All the activities offer parents and carers peace of mind that the young people are safe and occupied from the minute they are dropped off until they are collected at the end of the day.
Morning drop-off is between 8.30am and 9am with collection at 5pm. All the young people need to bring with them is a packed lunch, drinks, change of clothes and a towel.
Details of what is available can be seen on the Grangewaters web pages at www.thurrock.gov.uk/grangewaters
This summer the days are available from Monday, 25 July until Friday, 2 September, five days a week at a cost of £25 a day.
To make a booking — and all places must be booked, you cannot just arrive on the day — either e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01708 855228.
