Appeal after armed robbery in High Street shop;

Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at The Money Shop in High Street, Grays.

At 6.15pm on Thursday, June 23, suspects entered the shop, and one is believed to have been armed with a handgun. Money and jewellery were stolen, which is thought to be worth a five-figure sum.

DI Danny Stoten, of the South Ockendon serious crime team said: “Grays High Street would have still been quite busy at this time with passers-by, and we need to speak to anyone that saw these suspects before or after the incident.”

The first suspect was a black man, in his early 20s, approximately 5’8” tall, of a slim build, wearing black motorcycle gear. Over the top of his clothing was a high visibility waistcoat-style coat and he was also wearing a black motorcycle helmet.The second suspect was a white man, possibly Eastern European in appearance, approximately 5’8” tall, of a medium build, wearing dark coloured trousers, a black zip up top, black baseball cap and was carrying a blue and red rucksack.
