Chadwell Fete say thanks to the community

THE Friends of Herringham and the Chadwell Community Forum Ltd would like to thank everyone who supported the fete and family fun-day on Saturday 2nd July, beginning with the Governors, and Headteacher – Mrs Viki Reid, of Herringham School.

Thanks are due to Ross Newman and Nick Pirie of Ensign Bus Co. for the use of an open-topped bus during the afternoon and to Steve for driving it; to the proprietors of “Posh Nosh” for providing quality snacks and beverages; to Richard Staddon (“Magic Oz”) for his entertainment and help during the afternoon; to Colin and Clare of CB Bouncy Castles for the inflatables; to Goalden Events and Richard Smith for the table football; and to all those stallholders, performers and helpers that contributed in whatever way before, during and after the event.

And we would like to express our gratitude to all those businesses and organisations locally who donated raffle prizes, details of which will, be posted on www.chadwellcf.org.uk for the next twelvemonth. Thanks also to the Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Charles Curtis, and to Mrs Curtis, for attending and speaking; to Bill and his team of Grays First Responders, to P.C. Singleton for taking the trouble to change his shift to be able to come along during the afternoon, and to Sarah and her team from St John Ambulance for providing first-aid cover.

We are grateful for the help received from Staff and Parents of Herringham School and to committee-members of Chadwell Community Forum Ltd in organisation and on the day, and not least to Reg and Trevor who litter-picked the field after the captains and kings had departed!
