IT WAS chilly last night but that did not stop hundreds flocking to the Royal Opera House site in Purfleet to watch a performance of Cinderella beamed live from Covent Garden to key sites all over the UK.
The Mayor of Thurrock, Charlie Curtis and other dignitaries were well wrapped up but were warmed by the sparkling performance and the tremendous ambience of the event.
The Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House, Tony Hall (Baron Hall of Birkenhead) was present at the screening.
We took the opportunity to speak to Tony and discuss the warm relationship between the Royal Opera House and the local community. He was also kind enough to heap praise on the first ever Thurrock International Celebration of Culture that takes place throughout July.
