An extension is now underway for the Lakeside Retail Park with developer Land Securities announcing that two businesses have already signed up for space in the new scheme.
There are three new units being constructed on the site, with furnishing company CSL and retailer Mamas & Papas lined up for two of them.
A final 6,000 sq ft outlet is still available, although Land Securities noted that there has been some interest.
The new shops are set to be completed by the middle of next year, while a new home for Pizza Hut – which is relocating from its current position – will be open by December.
Construction software could help the firm stay on track and meet its deadlines.
Hermione Mackrill, portfolio director for Land Securities, commented: “In a challenging retail environment, the expansion of Lakeside Retail Park demonstrates the continued retailer interest in the scheme.”
Overall, the shopping site spans some 380,000 sq ft and houses firms such as Toys R Us, Next, Currys and Mothercare.
Companies working in the construction industry may benefit from Sage ERP EVision financial and contract management software to ensure such extensions go to plan.
