Tilbury 1 v 1 Ramsgate
Tilbury completed the pre season programme when they entertained Ryman South side Ramsgate to Chafields and both clubs will be happy with the result.
Tilbury went in to the game, still missing a couple of the regulars, but the replacements did well.
The game started well and good runs from Taylor and Bostry caused concerns in the visitors defence. Bostry did have an effort on target on 14. Ramsgate came into the game and dominated proceedings until the break. On 24 they took the lead when a cross from the left was slotted home unmarked by Simon Pettit.
Ramsgate went into the break on a hot afternoon the happier of the sides. Within 4 minutes they almost made it 2 when Sherwood hit just wide. On 69 James Marrable had to be at his best when he saved well following a goalmouth scramble. The hosts did get into there stride and substitutions made. This brought immediate results when another goalmouth scramble and on this occasion Aaron Matthews slotted home. In the final 10 minutes Jack West had two good runs and also just hit wide. In the final minute Ramsage’s Pascal Ebigbo headed just over the top.
After the game a happy Tilbury Assistant Manager Dave Ross commented “A satisfying performance in a competitive fixture. We have had some really tough pre season fixtures and next Saturday the real stuff starts. ”
Tilbury start there Ryman North programme at home to Brentwood Town on Saturday – 3.00pm kick off.
