FIREFIGHTERS were called to a 13 year old girl who had fallen down a very steep path at a disused quarry in the Chafford Gorges Nature Park. The girl was with friends when she became stuck and they raised the alarm. Crews used a triple extension ladder and rescue lines to reach the girl, she was rescued by 18:30hrs and placed in the care of the Ambulance Service.
Station Officer Mark Elliott from Grays Fire Station said:
“The girl had fallen down a make shift pathway into the disused quarry in Warrens Gorge at the park. The girl had collided with trees when she fell down the very steep path. Firefighters used a line to rescue the girl and a paramedic was in attendance whilst the rescue operations were carried out.”
