D Day for Thurrock schools tomorrow

IT SHOULD be A* day rather than D day tomorrow as the Thurrock senior schools announce their GCSE results.

The progess over the last few years has been phenomenal and many anticipate that the progress will continue.

Among the big questions are:

Will Chafford Hundred retain their No 1 status as they are on the eve of a new term as a Harris Academy?

Can Grays Convent address the slide which has seen them decline from first to second to third since 2008.

Can William Edwards, St Clere’s and Hassenbrook build on the phenomenal improvements last year. No-one expects leaps of 22% but can any of them nudge the 70% barrier.

Can Ockendon Academy break through the 50% barrier for the first time after getting 46% last year. Three years ago, their results stood at 29%.

YT will be filming news items at all of the senior schools and they plus all the results will be up on the site by tomorrow afternoon.
