Open Day at Orsett Fire Station next weekend

WITH Summer drawing to a close, the open day season is almost at an end. But there’s still an opportunity for members of the public to drop in at five of our stations around the county.

This Saturday (September 10) sees Halstead and Stansted open their doors and on Sunday it’s the turn of Witham crews.

Next Saturday (September 17), Orsett crews are organising a superb day of fun complete with a climbing wall, bouncy castle and barbeque. Along with the station’s appliances, firefighters are hoping one of the Service’s new aerial ladder platforms will be on site, along with a driving simulator on the County’s Community Wheels vehicle. Crews also hope they’ll be able to stage a chip pan demonstration for visitors.

Waltham Abbey will follow up with their open day on September 23.

Open days are fun for all the family. Not only is it a chance to see your local station, meet crews and have a look at some of their equipment, you can also pick up valuable fire safety advice while your children enjoy themselves.
