Beloved Trampoline coach passes away

IT SEEMS to have been a sad couple of weeks in Thurrock as another of the borough’s ambassadors has passed away.

Kath New, 65, of Caswell Close, Corringham died after a long respiratory illness.

Kath ran the Thurrock Kestrels trampoline club for more than 30 years with her late husband Tony.

The club enjoyed great success especially during the Trampoline boom during the seventies and eighties.

Katth was forced to close the club after more than 30 years last year due to her ill health. She leaves behind her daughter Julia, son Neil and three grandsons, Jonathan, Joe and Jed.

Kath’s funeral will be held at Pitsea Crematorium at 3.20pm on Wednesday, September 14, and the wake will be held at the Pegasus Club, Corringham.

The family has said everyone is welcome to attend and request donations to the British Lung Foundation or Parkinson’s UK, in memory of Tony.
