THURROCK Youth Theatre took their play “Downfall Of An Uprising” to Brentwood Drama Festival last week and won the Youth section. Of the eight individual awards presented last Saturday, five of them went to TYT members, Michael Harris, JamesBurgess, Ben Ward, AlexLawler and Judi Cordingley.The play was devised by the members and posed the possibility of future protests outside No 10 against parents and their inability to bring up their children properly. The highlight of the play was a scene where the Prime Minister is portrayed as a complete nutcase who proposes a totally outrageous solution to the problem.
It is left to other members of the cabinet to take the basis of his idea, transfom it into something the public would deem acceptable and groom him to present it on TV to the nation.The group’s success was a testament to both their acting skills and their creative writing talents.
