Children taking a lead at Benyon

Governors and staff have welcomed initiatives introduced new headteacher Natalie Sansom.

Mrs Sansom said “I am really excited to be leading Benyon Primary School and I believe passionately that children are at the heart of everything we do. Pupils told me that they were really keen to be recognised for the good examples they set, so we have introduced prefects in Year 6, health and safety monitors in every year group, and pupil leaders. Our pupil leaders are randomly selected every week and help us to lead the school. They enjoy wearing a medal and help with special duties like showing visitors around”.

Mrs Sansom joined Benyon Primary School in September and brings over 16 years of teaching experience, including headship of a large junior school in Essex.

She added “I would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome to the school, and as a whole team we are looking forward to an exciting future for Benyon. Our children are ‘truly leading by example’ and we are really proud of them”.
