Touching tributes at memorial service for Daphne Hart

THERE CAN’T be many occasions when the strains of Morecambe and Wise and “Bring me Sunshine” permeate St Peters and St Pauls church in Grays but the song symbolised the life of much loved and much missed Daphne Hart.

Former Conservative MP, Sir Graham Bright gave a touching eulogy where he praised Daphne’s work for the Holiday Homes for the Handicapped as well as her tireless work as a conservative councillor for Corringham and Fobbing.

  1. It was a huge shock when sitting at the funneral of Daphyn the tune bring me sunshine bring joy started to play,at such a sad,sad time.
Yet then the man sitting next to me ( a life long friend of Daphyn’s) turned to me and said The Daphyn I knew would of been singing at the top of her voice and doing a little dance.just like her.
So when I heard it playing again on Tuesday in my mind I held the picture of her sininging.
You see the reason for me saying this is,it’s a true saying You don’t know what you have till it’s gone.Daphyn was a friend of my mothers for 25yrs and in all those years she never stopped working for what she believed in.
Rest in peace Daphne you’ll be very very missed.
