Wealdstone 5, Aveley 2
MILLERS’ makeshift side under caretaker managership performed bravely at Wealdstone but were eventually undone and remain well adrift in the Ryman Premier relegation zone.
Richard Jolly had already had one strike disallowed before he put Stones ahead after five minutes but debutant Troy Powell-Quarry replied in the 20th minute for Millers.
Lee Chappell restored the home side’s lead in the 32nd minute as they dominated the game, only for Spencer Harrison to square it again on the hour.
Stones finally went ahead to stay when experienced defender Kevin Mully, another Aveley debutant, planted a diving header into his own net in the 67th minute. Scott Fitzgerald made it 4-2 and Jolly wrapped it up with his 32nd goal of the season to give a distorted look to the scoreline.
