THERE WAS a steady stream of young people, walking down Feenan Highway this afternoon, to lay flowers and pay tribute to former Hassenbrook student, Cameron Phillips, who died last night in a moped smash.
As well as flowers, a facebook site has been set up for friends to also leave their comments.
Amongst those leaving flowers was Gateway Academy student, Sonny Smith. He said: “Cameron was a real gent. He was always happy and positive. He was proper Tilbs.
Another friend, who did not wish to be named, said: “He had left school and was doing an apprenticeship course.
“Cameron was a great mate. Everyone had a good word for him.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the road crash.
The collision happened in Tilbury when Cameron Phillips appears to have lost control of the white Piaggio moped he had been riding along Brennan Road shortly before 8pm on Sunday, March 11 and struck a lamp post.
The 16-year-old boy from Sullivan Road in the town was certified dead at the scene.
A section of the road was closed for approximately eight hours while forensic collision investigators carried out their enquiries.
