Ford move @first parts business to Thurrock

FORD Retail, the factory-owned dealer group, is expanding its @first parts solutions parts business.

The UK’s largest trade supplier of Ford parts has moved its East London Parts Distribution Centre to a new site in Thurrock reports

The move doubles the capacity stocked to over 5 million parts across 45,000 lines.

The Essex centre will work with another centre in West London to provide same-day parts deliveries across London, the Home Counties and East Anglia.

@first also operates large distribution centres in Bristol, Yorkshire and Northern Ireland and a few smaller distribution hubs across the UK.

Jon Harte, managing director for @first parts solutions, said: “This is a significant expansion in our warehousing capacity for the South East and has also allowed us to modernise our stock management systems to ensure we offer the very best service to our growing customer base.”

Formed in 2007, @first parts solutions makes over 8,000 deliveries a day, has a fleet of 160 delivery vans and employs 400 staff. The business also supplies Mazda and Iveco parts.

  1. Very good news for the area, any idea on how many jobs this will create or all the East London staff moving with them??

  2. Great News. I’m sure there must be some jobs going when they get here. It’s good to see a company doing well despite all the gloom and choosing Thurrock is bonus.

  3. Sorry Colin, where in the article does it state that John Kent had anything to do with this move to Thurrock? I must have missed that bit.
