THE HEADLINE is a little inaccurate as the skate park at Belhus has completely gone!
One day, Ben DeFreitas and his pals were using the facility in the park. The next day it had been taken down.
Impulse Leisure had quoted health and safety reasons. Others have questioned why they were not more pro-active and robust in looking after it.
But Ockendon Academy student Ben and his pals are proactive themselves and have started a facebook campaign and formed a petition in order to get something in its place.

Such a shame that Impulse Leisure did very little to maintain this skate park, we need more things like this for the youth of the area and if they continue to see facilities being taken away from them this will eventually lead to them to become dissolusioned and could lead to anti social behaviour.
