THE SIGHT of Yash Gupta scampering around Grays has been a regular facet of Thurrock life. If you want to know where he is going or indeed where he has been, then you just need to look at his page on the Thurrock Council web-site and see the plethora of activities Yash undertakes.
Since Yash was last elected he was recognised an awarded a community champion by the local government association.
Not that this is a hagiography for Yash. He tends to divide opinion. Some Labour voters are annoyed at his handling of the planning application for people with learning differences in Cromwell Road. However, other residents are full of praise for his work in addressing residents concerns over plans for a “family from hell” moving into the ward.
But what Yash says in this interview, is, beyond anything else, candidates and councillors should listen.
YT caught up with Yash in the heart of Grays to see how his campaign was coming along.

So what is Yash doing about the state of his ward? street violence is on the increase, the local park is becoming a drinkers paradise and has recently suffered vanadalism with the fence being pulled down, the youth have nothing to do, has he any voice on the future closure of the adult education centre.
Maybe if he sgould to do more for his ward than he does going to functions and woring for TRUST which is an openy racist group as per their membership page states
“Becoming a member of TRUST is simple. Any Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) individual, community group or organisation who agrees with TRUST’s ethos can become a member. Membership is free and will enable you to receive our regular Newsletter and be informed of all local, regional and national BME events”
Well said Lambo. Purple flumps mean as much to me and will have about the same effect as what Yash Gupta says or does.
