Thurrock Over Fifties are invited to the Thurrock Older Peoples Partnership Board Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday 8th May starting 10am and the meeting closing at 12 noon with refreshments.
This is another unique ground breaking opportunity for Thurrock Older people to ‘Speak up for their Age’ and take part in consultations and let the Partnership Group know about what’s working and what’s not, in relation to older peoples services and concerns.
A spokesperson said: “In these austere times and the imposed government cuts it is crucial that services for older people reflect best value, and this cannot be done without working in partnership with older people direct, who are after all, the users and stakeholders of the service providers.”
Thurrock Over Fifties Forum have been given the opportunity to organize and run, what amounts to a Mini Thurrock 50 plus Parliament where the agenda is Thurrocks Older Peoples agenda and information and any issues of pertinent to them can be given a public airing.
The Partnership Board wants to know what is working and what is not, and the best people to ask are the users, carers and all with any contact with the service providers.
Thurrock Over Fifties Forum has elected Older People who report to the Regional Forum on Ageing (Future East) and also have representation on Essex Older Peoples Reference group.
So if your wish to help improve your life and the lives of all older people, then come along and Speak up for your Age!
This event is free and all are welcome. Contact Gerry Calder at TOFF for further information on 01375 412324
