RESIDENTS at the Dexter Close sheltered housing complex were in for a treat on Monday (30 April) lunchtime.
Thurrock Council’s tenant participation team were at the Grays complex providing a slap-up meal and a chance to get together.
The team have been travelling the borough’s complexes over recent months providing the food — which is slightly spicy with an African twist, and is usually followed by a traditional English dessert.
Around 20 Dexter Close residents and other neighbours came along for the lunch which on Monday was chick peas in curry, potatoes, spring greens, rice and chicken, followed by apple pie and custard.
The lunches are designed to give everyone a chance to meet new people and to talk with people from different cultural backgrounds.
