Thurrock Beer Festival backs local brewery

THE THURROCK Beer Festival is always one of the highlights of the year. At noon on Tuesday the door opened and the enthusiasts came pouring in.

The organisers are always keen to stress that they always try to source Essex brews. This year, they have gone one better and have the new beers from the Deverell’s brewery based at the Globe Estate in Grays.

The mayor was on hand to open proceedings and it is the last engagement before the mayor, cllr Charlie Curtis hands over the chains at the annual mayor making tonight (Wednesday).

YT spoke to the mayor and one of the organisers, Helen Turnidge about the five day festival.

Full details of the festival can be found on the advert on the front page of YT.
