YOU JUST KNOW it is going to be a runaway success. Parents poured into the Gateway Academy to see for themselves how the Gateway Primary Free School could be part of their own child’s education.
The Gateway Primary Free School is a state-funded primary school for 4–11 year olds. It is sponsored by the Ormiston Trust and part of the wider Gateway Learning Community, as such it will benefit from a wide range of resources and expertise to ensure that standards of learning and behaviour are high and that there is a wide breadth of opportunity for all pupils.
The doors opened in early September for the year 6 pupils who have clearly had a great time with visits to Colchester Zoo as well as a school routine that includes a dance class at 8.30 in the morning.
Reece Diprose and Nadene Sewell both spoke at the presentation and warmly recommended the school and its ethos.
YT spoke to the chief executive, Kevin Sewell about the new arrangements, visited the classrooms for year 6 and then spoke to assistant principal, Tom Martin after a very long day to see how he had enjoyed his first two weeks.
