HUNDREDS OF Thurrock students from across the borough flocked to the Civic Hall to the Opportunity Thurrock Careers Fair.
Dozens of organisations from Port of Tilbury, DP World, Park Inn, South Essex College, the Army, Essex Enquirer, the Royal Opera House and many many more had students speaking to them about their future careers.
It was the first time that the organisers (Sally Feeney, Neil Coates and Mike Sinden) had put on such an event and you could see how pleased they were.
YT spoke to Neil Coates and Philip Pearson from HW Wilson to gauge how they felt the event had gone.
The students were certainly impressed.
Ben Jones, 15, from William Edwards said: “This has been a very good event. I was able to do a few laps and speak to companies such as the Park Inn, the Army and HW Wilson and find out a little bit more.
Whilst a number of local Labour councillors also attended. The Mayor, cllr Yash Gupta, portfolio holder for Education, cllr Oliver Gerrish as well as cllrs Diana Hale, Angie Gaywood all joined up with their teams.
