Bristol 57 v 0 Thurrock
SHIPPING two tries and the first five minutes and a further two in the last five minutes denied any respectability to the score line of 57-0.
However, this was a much better performance from the T-Birds than the score line suggests.
T’s competed and matched a fine Bristol side for long periods in each half, but the class of their International Players shines through and they unpicked the T’s defence with monotonous regularity.
The score could have been a lot worse but for the last ditch tackling of Back of the Match Kat Emerson at Full Back. Gael (Frenchie) Marcassus who joined the Ts shortly before the season started, came off the bench in the second half and performed well enough at Flanker to be named Forward of the Match.
On a happier note, Ts fielded a second string in a league game for the first time in 3 seasons and they comfortably beat a Sutton and Epson side in a London 3 fixture 55-22.
Several of the team were playing their first game of Rugby and Kelly Bentley scored a try on her debut.
All new players are welcome and the Second team will enable Thurrock to develop new players at a more appropriate level than the rigours of the Premiership.
