EIGHT FIRE crews attended at Tilbury docks after a report that a straddle carrier was on fire.
Crews attended at just after 9am this morning.
Crews reported that 20 percent of the straddle carrier was alight. Firefighters used the aerial ladder platform to reach the fire.
Crews tackled the blaze using two jets and foam.
Update: 09:55hrs: Fire crews are continuing to tackle the fire and report that the fire is burning at the top of the straddle carrier which is 12 metres high.
Update: 10:50hrs: The fire has been extinguished. A thermal image camera was used to check for any remaining hotspots.
