THE POWERFUL and thought-provoking film, Desert Flower, launched sixteen days of activism against gender violence in Thurrock.
Over 200 people attended at the Thameside Theatre to see the film which chronicles the journey of Warsi Dirie from shepherdess in Somlia to the worlds catwalks as a supermodel.
But she is haunted by the fact that she suffered from genital mutilation when she was three years old.
