THURROCK-based TipToe Stage School are celebrating after five of their pupils gained scholarships from a nationally recognised dance association.
The British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA) has an annual scholarship day, where high achieving students take part in a gruelling day of workshops including assessed classes in Modern and Ballet.
In addition, each pupil must perform a solo routine (choreographed personally), plus an interview panel with the BTDA examining board.
Each young person who attended were awarded scholarships with the association commenting that the dancers “displayed a high level of talent and a polite, friendly and disciplined attitude”.
The school’s principal, Julie Barker said: “I am very proud of the girls and this award highlights their commitment to learning and securing a bright future for themselves”.
