A MUCH-loved member of the Tilbury Brass Band was four-times over the drink drive when he plunged over a hundred feet to his death from a private balcony at the Tate Modern.
The death of Michael Foreman, 48, was the subject of an inquest at Southwark Crown Court this week.
The Daily Mail reported that the inquest heard that Mr Foreman had been drinking wine in the art gallery’s bar for an hour before he was seen striding determinedly toward the railing and plunging off the London building from the balcony on the fifth floor.
A coroner returned an open verdict after he heard that there was no sign given to the family of the impending tragedy and his judgement would have been impaired by alcohol.
Mr Foreman was a trombonist in the Tilbury brass band in Essex and had played for the Aveley and Newham Band.
Members of the brass band community paid tribute to the Mr Foreman after his death in late July.
His music was played at his funeral at Corbets Tay in Upminster.
