OCKENDON Studio School students had a fabulous evening with the Lakeside Personal Shopper, Angela Polpett, last Thursday as she joined them to discuss clothing styles and specifically what to wear for work and interviews. With a rail full of clothes lent by the fashion retailer Next, the students enjoyed matching the clothes to various job descriptions with surprising accuracy and good taste too!
As year 12 students joining Ockendon Studio School in September 2013 will be asked to wear business dress and all Studio School students participate in work related activities it won’t be long before they are putting these lessons into practice.
The students comments ranged from “I learnt that I should dress for the job” and “you need to think about the job your interviewing for before choosing the clothes” and that they felt “more confident of getting it right now” as well as made them think about the small details such as accessories’ and the importance of having clean shoes. They also gained a good understanding of making a good first impression.
