THE PRESENTER OF Later and keyboard man with Squeeze, Jools Holland opened the National Skills Academy in Purfleet.
The perfect blue sky was a perfect backdrop to the academy as it nestled next to the Royal Opera House and stood in the shadow of the iconic Dartford Bridge.
Infact, Mr Holland made several references to the perfect ambience of the surroundings.
The centre was opened on the first day of a two day conference in cultural and creative skills.
It was heartening to see the students from South Essex College manning the sound desks, operating the lighting and in charge of the cameras at the conference.
