The students were so touched after hearing about two year old Blu’s story and wanted to fundraise to help the family.
The event was dedicated to helping raise much needed funds for a local family in Grays. Their son, Blu Hill was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy months after being born and hoping to soon undergo a life changing operation but will need other special equipment and intense physiotherapy sessions to support his aftercare.
The event featured a number of stalls offering beauty treatments at discounted rates including nail treatments, massage, waxing and spray tanning. Stall holders also donated products to include in a prize draw for customers.
The College also donated the money it made selling refreshments on the night.
Principal Mark Vinall, said: “The Palmer’s College Student Executive Charity Pamper Evening was a great way to give yourself some professional TLC as well as help a local child in need.”
Mum, Laura Pond said: “The donation will help towards the cost of Blu’s aftercare including Physio and special equipment e.g. Gym equipment and orthotics that he will need to be able to continue his progress.
“This fundraiser means a huge amount to us and to know that everybody including the local College is willing to help us on our little boy’s journey to improve his life. So thank you.”
