YT has discovered that a number who have been given their third or fourth choice, are parents of children in the Chadwell and Tilbury areas.
One parent, who did not wish to be named said: “We live in Chadwell St Mary but we didn’t even bother with Gateway Academy.
“We had hoped for William Edwards or Gable Hall. Instead, we were very surprised to get our fourth choice: Grays Convent.
“We are not catholics, infact our children are not even baptised!”
Grays Convent has a very detailed criteria for selection which details selection based on adherence to catholic mores and values etc. But the eagle-eyed will notice clause 7.4 which states: “Other girls”.
the times they are a changing..
