A CYCLIST had to be taken to hospital after colliding with a car whilst taking part in the Thurrock Cycle Marathon.
Over 300 cyclists left the car park outside the Civic Hall, Blackshots on Sunday morning to complete either the seven, 21 or 42 mile challenge that winds its way around Bulphan and North Ockendon.
The St Johns Ambulance of Grays reported that the cyclist had been struck by a car. They also reported that three other cyclists needed medical treatment.
