FIRE CREWS were called to a fire in a disused building in The Sorrells, Stanford-le-Hope.
The fire occurred near to 5pm on Monday afternoon.
The incident commander had reported that the building was a single storey, measuring 10 by 10 metres and is 25% alight.
Crews in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
Update: The fire was extinguished by 17:59hrs. Crews used a thermal image camera to check for any remaining hotspots.
The fire will be investigated by ECFRS and the police.
