Back to its traditional end of July weekend, T-Fest 13 promises plenty of fun and enjoyment at Grays Beach Riverside Park on Saturday and Sunday 27 and 28 July.

Last year’s event moved to June to prevent a clash with the Olympic Games and unfortunately proved rather damp.

Now back at the heart of the summer, organisers are hopeful the free and open to all celebration will also see a return to hot sunny days and warm evenings.

T-Fest 13 will open its doors at 10am and run for nine hours until 7pm on both days.

Cllr Lynn Worrall, Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for culture, said: “There has already been a great deal on this year, but our teams have been busy behind the scenes, putting together the T-Fest 13 programme.”

T-Fest 13 is the culmination of Thurrock’s July month of celebration which includes the launch of the “heritage trail” in Grays, marking the route of last year’s Olympic Torch Relay in the town; the Stanford Festival; the Tosca big screen event at the High House Production Park in Purfleet; and the Big Lunch in Grays Town Park.

As ever, T-Fest caters for all the family with a Family Zone – sponsored by into Lakeside and managed and run by Thurrock CVS which this year will provide a chance for local acts – those not quite ready for the main stage – to showcase their talent.

Thurrock CVS, ngage, Healthwatch Thurrock and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions have come together to ensure all of the borough’s amateur talents are on show to create a hive of activity for all the family.
