NEW signs above Lakeside’s main entrances reflecting the shopping centre’s new name, “intu Lakeside”, were revealed today.
Paul Lancaster, Regional Centre Director for intu Properties plc, says: “Choosing the new name took almost nine months and was a pretty complex process. While we know the local community will continue to refer to us as Lakeside for some time we’re sure intu will soon become part of everyday language. We are confident our customers will be impressed once they’ve seen the full impact of our rebrand.
“One of the reasons for the new name is a closer link for intu Lakeside to its 11 sister centres around the UK, which will help attract bigger and better promotions and events and ensure intu Lakeside is the place where everyone wants to shop.”
The new name and brand are just part of a series of changes taking place at intu Lakeside. Other benefits of the rebrand include new digital tools like free Wi-Fi for all visitors; a new calendar of exciting events with national and international brands, magazines and film companies; new uniforms designed to allow staff to reflect their personalities; and world-class training so shoppers will benefit from an enhanced customer experience.
