A MAN from Basildon has today been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a delivery driver in Purfleet which happened last month.
The man, aged 40, was arrested just before 11am this morning on suspicion of the attempted murder of David Fletcher, 58, from Upminster, who remains in hospital.
He was run over with his own lorry after two men drove off in the vehicle as he was making a delivery in Wood Avenue, Purfleet, on Tuesday, July 9.
The man remains in custody.
Officers have so far arrested a total of five men in connection with the investigation. They have been released on police bail until September 20.
