EUROPEAN and local elections will be held across Thurrock on Thursday, 22 May 2014 and people intending to vote should ensure they are on the Electoral Register.
Thurrock Council will be delivering electoral registration forms this month to make sure the register is as up-to-date as possible.
Local people are being encouraged to complete their registration form and return it promptly to ensure they can have their say. If there have been no changes in the household, the form can be completed online or via telephone – there is a legal duty to collect this information every year.
Residents who do not receive a form should contact the elections team on 01375 652816 or email email@example.com
Chief executive and electoral registration officer Graham Farrant, said: “Registering to vote is quick and simple.
“All you have to do is update the annual canvass form with details of everyone who lives in the household and who is eligible to vote; and return it to us as soon as possible.
“If there are no changes to your details you can save the council money by completing the registration via internet or telephone. The details are on the top right hand side of the form. It’s your vote, don’t lose it.”
