UKIP candidate in Stifford Clays: From bins to Bulgarians

IF THERE are two words that sum up the UKIP candidate for the Stifford Clays by-election, then they are “Plain-speaking”.

Clive Broad is the quintessential local man. Born in New Road, Grays and a very successful businessman.

And when residents speak to Clive, they get the impression that local issues, such as the bin collection farce, would be sorted.

YT spoke to Clive out and about on the ward as he makes the final push before Thursday’s poll.

  1. Very apt that the conversation was about the bins when on 1min 50sec you clearly see one of the UKIP members just throwing their rubbish into the grass verge, hope he was made to clear this up.

  2. That was well observed Lambo. It may seem like a trivial thing but it is symptomatic of some peoples principles. They want to change the way this country is governed, which is fair enough, but who would want to vote for a party whose senior members act in this way. If that is his nature to totally disregard the environment, what will happen if they are elected into power. He was probably not even aware that an interview was taking place which will be viewed by people all over the world. If that other UKIP person whose name escapes me, was sacked for making quite a funny joke about slags, then surely this idiot should also be sacked.

  3. Thought I was the only one who noticed that, quite a good interview completely ruined by one idiot who thinks it’s fine to litter the very ward his party is trying to win, obviously holds the electorate in contempt.

  4. I never saw the UKIP guy littering – instead I saw a community spirited individual starting a community orchard for the good folk of Stifford Clays – in 10 years time residents will be gathering armfuls of free apples thanks to UKIP..

  5. Must be the issue on everyone’s lips at the polling station. The evil UKIP apple core thrower. We talk of nothing else in the pub.

  6. NoVoice – they should be congratulating the community spirited UKIP guy for attempting to start the first Thurrock community orchard. Some people find fault with such good intentions.
