STEPHANIE CROAN was moved from a Tilbury home across to South Ockendon. Everything was fine until she noticed that the wall that divided the sitting room with the bedroom was not a wall at all but a large sheet of glass that was painted over.

She noticed this just in time as she was about to hammer a nail into the “wall”. Luckily she spotted it in time. Stephanie points out that there could have been all sorts of permutations.

Stephanie says that she believes that the house was not fit to be re-let. Here is her story as well as the reaction of the local councillor, Lynn Carr.steph

  1. this matter of the glass in the wall has finally been addressed after 3 months of constant harranging the council and thanks to councillor Lynn xarr’s involvement.I still await the rest of the issues with the property being resolved.I have contacted Councillor Val Morris-Cook and Barbara Brownlee(director of housing) asking for a meeting but as yet i am to get a reply..its so far been a MONTH since contacting them. All the council seem to want to do is fob its tennants off or just do quick”cheap” fixes rather than properly address issues.this is not acceptable and these “cheap” fixes are actually not cost efficient as they end up costing more through further repairs.
