INTU Lakeside is getting ready to offer shoppers another truly magical Christmas filled with festive entertainment, free family fun and late night shopping.
The centre will welcome shoppers for even longer from Monday 2nd December, remaining open from 9am to 11pm on weekdays and from 9am to 10pm on Saturdays. Longer opening hours mean intu Lakeside shoppers can visit the centre’s 250+ shops, cafes and restaurants (including Debenhams, House of Fraser, Apple, Superdry and Primark) truly at their convenience, while enjoying new ones such as 360 Champagne & Cocktails and Lakeland, too.
While in centre, families can visit Santa’s grotto for free which features a 3D cinema with an exclusive, brand new film and every child that enters is presented with a free surprise gift to unwrap when they leave. The grotto is not just home to Santa; characters from a child’s toy box have been brought to life in giant form too, from rocking horses and teddy bears to rag dolls and toy soldiers. The free grotto welcomed over 30,000 children last year and it’s looking likely that even more will pass through its doors in 2013.
intu Lakeside’s ever-popular Shop & Drop service will be back throughout December saving shoppers from sore arms as they safely deposit their bags full of Christmas shopping and then collect them later by car. intu Lakeside will also welcome choirs throughout December who will entertain shoppers with festive tunes while raising money for local good causes. Extra special Christmas crackers will also be handed out to shoppers on Saturdays in December, some of which will be filled with gift cards pre-loaded with money and ready to be spent in centre. It’s all part of making the shopping experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.
On 2nd December, intu Lakeside also launched a brand new digital campaign to engage with social media users this Christmas. Shoppers are encouraged to tweet and tell the centre’s elves which items are on their #Twishlist and some lucky followers may just have their Christmas wishes granted!
Additional Christmas treats for our shoppers this year have included new contemporary mall seating which has also been a huge hit with shoppers who welcome the opportunity to rest those shopping legs. We have also been out with our ‘Joy Jars’ providing treats for our younger shoppers as well as providing unexpected treats with our intu Golden Gift Cards.
Izzie Peskett, Marketing Manager at intu Lakeside, said, “Once again, we are looking forward to a busy and magical Christmas at intu Lakeside. From our glittering giant decorations to our free grotto, longer opening hours and added extras such as prize-filled Christmas crackers and our #twishlist campaign, we’ve got Christmas wrapped up.”
