Men charged over meat cleaver robbery

TWO men are due to appear in court charged with robbery following an incident in Grays.

John Morgan, 24, of Anton Road, South Ockendon, and Russell Waterman, 31, of Derwent Parade, South Ockendon, stand charged with robbing a man of an iPhone and cash in Credo Road Grays on December 29.

Morgan is further charged with having a meat cleaver as an offensive weapon, and was remanded in custody to appear before Basildon Magistrates Court today. [Tuesday, December 31]

Waterman was bailed to appear before Basildon Magistrates Court on January 16, 2014.
