THE WET WINTER continued as the rains fell on the east of the borough on Friday morning.
Streets in Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham were badly hit with some streets looking more like rivers.
Thurrock Council confirmed that some waste collections had to be suspended as the lorries could not get down the street.
Stanford councillor, Shane Hebb was out on Runnymede Road to assess the problems and see what he could do.
YT reporter Tanya McPherson spoke to the hard-working councillor to see what his view was of the flooding.
Cllr Hebb said: “I have concerns about the flooding especially in Runnymede Road. A number of individuals have not been able to get to work today.
“There are also people trying to make deliveries or indeed, pick up waste that have also been hampered.
“I have spoken to the council and will be following this up. We need to look at the pumping station and the whole drainage situation”.
