Update: QE2 Bridge re-opens after shut for three hours as high winds hit Thurrock

Update: 1635 hrs

QE2 Bridge has now re-opened but there are delays of at least 90 minutes.

Update: 1601 hrs

M25 Essex – M25 closed and queueing traffic clockwise at A282, QE2 Bridge, because of strong winds. Diversion in operation – through the Dartford tunnel. Congestion to J29, A127 (Romford).

Update: 1600 hrs

Police Tweet: “#M25 Junction 30 Officers assisting with congestion caused through drivers jumping traffic lights. #NOEXCUSE

Update: 1550 hrs

Ensign Buses: “We are getting ready to put emergency plans into place for our Thurrock routes due to the effect of the traffic congestion/ QEII bdg closure”.

M25 Essex – M25 entry slip road closed clockwise at J30, A13 (Lakeside), because of traffic management.

Update: 1505 hrs

M25 Kent – Two lanes closed and queueing traffic on M25 Dartford Tunnel anticlockwise from A282, Dartford River Crossing toll booths, because of strong winds. Congestion to J2, A2 (Darenth Interchange).

Update: 1500 hrs

M25 Essex – M25 closed and queueing traffic clockwise at A282, QE2 Bridge, because of strong winds. Diversion in operation – through the Dartford tunnel.

Congestion to J30 A13.

Update: 1425 hrs

From Essex Police: Full closure of QE2 Bridge due to high winds.

Queueing traffic on M25 clockwise at A282, QE2 Bridge. Congestion to J30 A13.

There is now a 30mph speed restriction on the QEII bridge due to high winds.

Ensign Bus:  Please note that if QEII bridge is closed due to expected strong winds then the service will be suspended.
